The Secretariat of the Convention of Migratory Species (“Bonn Convention” ) commissioned ERIC to a 3 year study on improving the Governance of the Treaty in order to strengthen it’s contribution to the conservation, management and sustainable use of migratory species over their entire range.

ERIC was asked to advise on the improvement of current management, internal operations, financial structure, and scientific framework. ERIC’s report supported the Working Group in making decisions and Begonia Filgueira assisted in negotiations with the Financial Committee and COP in plenary for the approval of recommendations to introduce strategic change by gaining support to pass resolutions for reform and  gain financial support for their implementation.
